Detecting Water Damage with Infrared Cameras
Water damage spells trouble. Not only does water damage immediately affect (if not destroy) your personal belongings, but over time it threatens your health and the structural integrity of your home.
Most property owners have dealt with water damage at least once before. After all, every building—big or small, new or old—is susceptible to moisture intrusion. Flooding basements, leaky pipes and even small spills damage surfaces on both the interior and exterior.
If areas affected by water are not restored to their original, dry state within 24 to 48 hours, there’s a good chance black mold will develop, putting the health of all occupants at risk. What’s more, building materials will deteriorate, compromising the structural safety of your home.
If you’re in the Montreal or Ottawa area, our teams are ready to assist you with comprehensive mold inspection and removal services.
Fortunately, the sooner you detect water damage in your home, the better you can protect yourself and your family from its adverse effects.

Detect leaks and moisture with infrared
It’s not always easy to find where water damage is coming from on your own. Pipes leak and burst behind walls, and cracks don’t always develop where we can see them. For this reason, rely on an infrared inspection.
A thermal imaging camera can pick up energy (heat) emitted by various objects and surfaces in its view. It then displays the heat signatures in an image called a thermogram, using a range of colours. A qualified inspector then uses the thermogram to locate wet or damp areas and identify the source of the leak.
If you suspect water damage in your home, immediately deal with it to prevent mold and ongoing deterioration. Contact Mold Busters for fast and reliable water damage inspections in Ottawa or Montreal. Same-day service!
If you’re unable to have an in-person inspection, we also offer a free virtual mold inspection service to help identify potential mold issues.
